How to Protect Yourself Against Cancer With Food: "Once a rare disease, cancer is now widespread, affecting as much as one-third of the population. The rise in cancer in the West has paralleled the rise in factory farming and the use of processed foods containing vegetable oils and additives.

Orthodox methods for treating cancer (radiation and chemotherapy) do not prolong life. The best approach to cancer is prevention.

Traditional diets, containing animal and plant foods farmed by nontoxic methods, are rich in factors that protect against cancer. Many of these protective factors are in the animal fats.

Vegetarianism does not protect against cancer. In fact, vegetarians are particularly prone to cancers of the nervous system and reproductive organs."

  2. I wish there was a way to eat food like this India but the concept of organic food has yet to arrive here and even the water we drink is contaminated with pesticides and fertilisers

  3. How can I lose weight?? Or rather, Talena, do you know about foods that increase a vegetarian's metabolic rate? I think I have the slowest metabolism on the planet >_<

  4. Indianangel - Thanks for coming by! Glad you liked it!

Rohini - Is it possible to get a Reverse Osmosis filter put on your water? This is probably the best type of water filter. I know what you mean about contaminated water there, though. I once drank water from a village that I thought was filtered, but it was a communication error--it wasn't. I lost 13 pounds in the next week. Hadn't been that thin since Junior High! Yuck! Anyway, "organic" means "grown without chemicals." I am sure someone there must be growing food this way, due to the expense of chemical fertilizers. But how do you know, right? When things aren't labelled, it's pretty tough.

Aakanksha - Well, I think that my answer for this question would be so long I would have to send you an e-mail. So I will.

  5. I don't think the kind of filters you mentioned are available here. Here the focus is on getting the germs out of the water so the chemicals are pretty much ignored.
